November 24, 2008—Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has announced its membership in the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments, a select group of industry leaders who practice and are recognized for leadership in sustainability.
Eaton is the first power management company to become a member of the Alliance, it says.
“The Alliance invited Eaton to join based on the company’s commitment to protect and improve the environment not only through corporate sustainability initiatives to reduce company emissions, energy consumption and waste production, but to also encourage customers and suppliers to do the same,” said Craig Zurawski, executive director, Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments. “Eaton’s Electrical Group offers energy-efficient and environmentally sound electrical solutions to help customers qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits.”
Founded in 2003, the mission of the Alliance’s international corporate members is to educate the marketplace and top management on the benefits of reducing the overall impact facilities have on the natural environment and on building occupants. Members include Johnson Controls, Milliken & Company, Forbo Flooring, Philips Lighting, JohnsonDiversey, Owens Corning, USG Corporation, Kohler Co. and now, Eaton.
