EDS signs $87 million European FM agreement with Johnson Controls

Johnson Controls has won a five-year contract worth approximately $87 million to manage non-core business facilities management for Electronic Data Systems (EDS), a leader in outsourcing information technology (IT) services and consulting. This marks the first time EDS has outsourced its full facilities management services in Europe, underlining the growing trend for international companies to drive total outsourcing in Europe.

Under the contract, which guarantees shared savings, Johnson Controls will supply a total facilities management service by managing 67 sites around the UK, composed mostly of office and data center sites with some warehouses. The contract covers a wide range of services from maintenance to switchboard, catering, and cleaning, plus minor works up to $36,000. Johnson Controls, which provides facilities management services for EDS in the US and South Africa, will also be the preferred supplier for project work.
