To help demand response program managers develop and operate more effective programs, the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), in conjunction with the Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA), is starting an online benchmarking system for demand response programs.
The new system uses the DataSource platform that provides benchmarking information for utility customer service and customer operation systems. It allows demand response program data entry from investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, cooperative utilities, state and federal utilities, ISOs and RTOs, and energy services companies.
Companies that enter detailed data about their programs will be able to compare program parameters with other companies after submitting their data online. EEI and PLMA will also be writing summary reports based on the data that is submitted.
The system is currently taking data for programs that were operational in the year 2000. Only companies that fall into the categories listed above are eligible to participate. To register for the system, eligible companies should fill out the registration form that is located at the EEI DataSource Web site.
