JOFCO International has just announced development of state-of-the-art electronic planning and specification software tools for JOFCO furniture. These tools have been developed in collaboration with 20/20 Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of design software for the office and residential furniture industries. The JOFCO implementation of their software technology will be known as JOFCO/CAD.
According to Hank deCillia, development consultant to JOFCO on this project, “The AutoCad platform upon which they [20/20] have built their application software gives us the flexibility to integrate with virtually any other industry platform, including proprietary systems developed by the larger contract interior design firms, dealerships, and corporate/governmental facilities organizations.”
JOFCO/CAD consists of two integrated elements: the Office Planner Module and the Furniture Specification Module. The Office Planner Module features an AutoCad based JOFCO symbol library, employing the new “parametric technology,” that can be used to create intelligent plan view drawings, photo realistic 3D renderings, and even virtual walkthroughs of office layouts. The Furniture Specification Module contains the non-graphic JOFCO electronic catalog with intelligent specification protocols and automated project pricing/ordering capabilities.
