September 12, 2007—Element Service, Inc., a full-service mechanical HVACR company and the distribution arm of Utilisource Corp., an energy and energy conservation products provider, has expanded into the commercial walk-in refrigeration industry with a new product known as FridgeCare.
“This product, an innovative humidity control system for walk-in refrigerators in restaurants and food storage facilities, is also an energy efficiency product since it can save the end user 20 to 25 percent in electrical costs,” said Shaun Lee, President and Chief Operations Officer of Element Service.
He said the effectiveness of this device has been proven in the field by Hawaiian Electric Company which, along with its subsidiaries, provides electricity to 95 percent of Hawaii’s 1.2 million residents.
“The equipment has been proven so effective, in fact, that it is in use in every school in Hawaii,” said Lee, who recently returned from a tour of the islands where he personally visited a number of sites where the equipment has been installed.
Element Service has begun the process of marketing the filter panel-based product on the mainland, and it has already been installed in a number of restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
Lee said the FridgeCare commercial refrigeration solution not only saves electrical costs and reduces maintenance costs on equipment but it also virtually eliminates odors and pollution and extends peak freshness of meats, dairy and produce.
