EMCOR Group’s acquisition of Consolidated Engineering expands FM services and geographic reach

January 17, 2003—EMCOR Group, a provider of mechanical and electrical construction services and facilities services, has acquired Consolidated Engineering Services (CES), a subsidiary of Archstone Smith. CES provides a broad array of facility services including comprehensive facilities management, operation and maintenance, mobile services, remote monitoring, technical consulting and diagnostic services, mission-critical support, and installation and support for building systems.

CES provides its services to approximately 9,500 facilities, representing about 265 million sq.ft. of space in 20 states in the Northeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. CES’s customer base includes blue chip clientele in the pharmaceutical, industrial, financial services, and commercial markets as well as federal government agencies.

The acquisition expands EMCOR’s US market for facilities services, strengthens its capabilities, further diversifies its markets, and expands its geographic reach. In addition, CES’s contracts establish EMCOR’s presence in the market for US federal and state government services..
