March 6, 2006—EMCOR Facilities Services has been awarded a five-year contract, worth more than l.8m to provide facilities management services at One Central Park, a joint venture in Manchester, UK.
Backers of the joint venture include Greater Manchester’s three universities, as well as MANCAT and Manchester Science Park. It will provide an access point for further and higher education offerings.
EMCOR will provide a range of facilities management services covering both hard and soft services along with office moves, cleaning, postal services, reception, document control, and energy management. EMCOR regards the project as one of the UK’s most exciting regeneration and education projects.
Facility activities will be based around six core areas: MANCAT Learning Centre; New Technology Institute; Research and Graduate Centre; Business Creating Unit; Business Incubator; and Manchester Science Park. It will act as an economic catalyst stimulating the creation of jobs, investment, and opportunities in the community.
