Panel Concepts, Inc., introduced their new EMPOWER Open Office System at NeoCon. EMPOWER is an acronym for Electronic Management & POWER. The EMPOWER system’s three-inch thick panels include a structural steel interior frame with integrated top channel communications raceway and a base-level raceway for power and communications wiring. Each panel has integral slotting at one-inch vertical increments for hang-on components and camlock installation. Fabric surfaces are acoustical (.65 NRC), tackable, and completely removable for easy access to the interior power and communications cabling cavity. Each surface has a rigid hardboard back supporting a layer of high-density fiberglass and fabric covering. The hardboard backs include pre-indexed cutouts to facilitate field installation of work surface level power and communications outlets.
EMPOWER panels utilize panel Concepts’ patented camlock connection designed for easy, tool-free installation and reconfiguration. Universal connection posts make EMPOWER a non-progressive system that allows panels to be added, removed, or replaced at virtually any point in an installation without disturbing the adjacent panels.
