January 26, 2004—Encad, a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, has announced that its “next generation” product, the NovaJet 1000i printer, will offer leading-edge print quality, print speeds significantly faster than other printers in its category, and a low cost of operation. Available in March 2004, the new printer combines the wide-format expertise of Encad with Kodak’s extensive knowledge and research in color imaging science.
Encad achieves exceptional image quality at high speeds with a unique print masking technique that maximizes each of the six ink colors. High throughput is achieved with an advanced print head that allows high-speed printing. New dryer technology ensures quick dry time on a wide variety of media. With a printer price of under $20,000 (MSRP), and the lowest ink cost in the category, the NovaJet 1000i printer will also meet the customer demand for low total cost of operation, says Encad.
