January 20, 2006—Encore Seating has introduced Chance and Lingo, a pair of modern chairs with convenient stacking and ganging capabilities, each with distinct yet related design sensibilities, the company says.
Chance is the no-gamble answer to the stacking side chair, while Lingo has its own advanced, multifunctional vocabulary.
Designed exclusively for Encore by Francisco Romero of Phidesign, a seasoned designer with a masters degree in architecture and a background in applied mathematics and woodworking, the seats mark the first time Encore has collaborated with a designer on product development.
Chance features a signature arm that slopes inward and tapers down with seamless style and comfort, while its generous seat and back complement both its overall aesthetic and its functional capabilities. Able to stack four from the floor, with glides or on casters, Chance is also available with an optional ganging connector for quick and easy linking of chairs. When not in use, connectors simply fold underneath the seat for concealment.
As the slightly more sophisticated cousin to Chance, Lingo possesses the same functional aspects as its counterpart but with an added design flare, stemming from its own exclusive arm detail, tapered seat and back design and finer stitching details uncommon to other stack chairs, says the company.
