September 28, 2009—Enecon Corporation, a world leader in polymer composites technology, has introduced ENESEAL MP, a water-based penetrant and hydro-barrier designed for use on masonry, concrete and stone. ENESEAL MP is a single component, ultra-low viscosity sprayable coating system that dries to a completely invisible weather barrier and water-repellant sealer, according to the company.
ENESEAL MP forms a hydrophobic barrier inside masonry pores that repel water and water-borne salts, significantly reducing the damaging effects of moisture penetration, including surface scaling, freeze-thaw cracking and corrosion of reinforcing steel.
Because the completely invisible barrier penetrates masonry surfaces to depths of up to three-quarters of an inch, it will not wear away as a result of surface traffic and/or harsh weather conditions, says the company.
ENESEAL MP is also “breathable,” allowing water vapor to escape from inside the concrete or masonry while dramatically reducing liquid water penetration from the outside.
