October 13, 2003—NewEnergy Associates, a subsidiary of Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, says that energy industry interest in its advanced Planning and Risk Analysis Solutions—as measured by daily Web site traffic—have remained at sustained high levels since the August 14th blackout that impacted much of the Northeast United States and Canada. Website activity spiked to 660% of the annual daily average in the days immediately following the blackout. The levels have remained high and over the seven weeks since the Blackout have averaged 465% of the pre-Blackout daily traffic for 2003. Registrations in the company’s series of WebCasts have also dramatically increased.
