Energy Systems Group wins Georgia school district contract

June 10, 2005—Energy Systems Group, LLC (ESG) and the administration of Muscogee County School District (MCSD) entered into a long-term agreement to implement facility improvements and energy efficiency projects at all school district buildings, the company says.

These facility upgrades will increase energy efficiency, reduce long-term energy expenses and strengthen the school district’s commitment to providing a comfortable and effective learning and working environment for the students and teachers of Muscogee County.

ESG developed and will implement a comprehensive $6.7 million energy and facility plan and process to retrofit existing lighting, heating and cooling equipment at the schools and administration building. Once installed, these improvements will reduce energy consumption and utility costs and allow the leadership to redirect these savings to support the primary mission of educating the future leaders of South Georgia. By leveraging the energy and operational savings of this project, ESG is adding air conditioning systems to ten existing school facilities to help increase the comfort and environment for students and staff while still reducing the school system’s energy bills.

ESG is providing complete turn-key services to MCSD and include design, project management, implementation, financing, measurement and verification services and long-term training to allow the MCSD staff to focus on their primary missions. Upon completion of the six month project, the students and staff will enjoy more comfortable and efficient classrooms for learning while extending the life of the municipal facilities well into the next decade further leveraging existing tax dollars and budgets.
