Environmental Support Solution offers review session for IAQ certification

November 9, 2001—Environmental Support Solutions will offer a review session to support professionals interested in completing indoor air quality certification through the American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQC).

The review session will be held December 10-12, 2001 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Ariz. from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager certification exam will be administered at the end of this session. Those who pass the exam will be designated Certified Indoor Air Quality Managers through the AmIAQC.

The review session for the certification exam will cover such topics as: factors that contribute to poor indoor air quality; how to establish administrative, operation and engineering controls to prevent indoor air quality complaints; identify when and how to test for contaminants; and how to develop a facility-wide IAQ Management Plan.

In order to qualify for the exam, participants must meet at least one of these qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in risk management, property management or facilities management
  • Three years of professional experience and a two-year college degree
  • One year of professional experience and a four-year college degree

“The review session is designed to answer three basic areas of questions covered by the exam,” said Larry Hays, vice president of training for Environmental Support Solutions. “However, participants who sit for this exam will need to correctly answer 70 percent of the 100 questions to be considered certified.”
