EPA awards $2.6 million for small businesses to develop new environmental technologies

March 16, 2005—The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded more than $2.6 million to 34 small companies under its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The money will be used to develop or improve environmental technologies in the following key areas: to control and monitor air and water pollution, manage solid and hazardous waste, prevent pollution, and ensure safe buildings and drinking water security.
