EPA, DOE recognize Energy Star winners for outstanding energy efficiency

April 4, 2007—The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) presented the 2007 Energy Star Awards March 21 to more than 80 businesses and organizations for their outstanding accomplishments in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.

EPA introduced the Energy Star program in 1992 as a voluntary market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased energy efficiency. Today, in partnership with DOE, the program offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, save money, and help protect the environment for future generations.
