July 18, 2008—The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is accepting nominations for the 2008 Water Efficiency Leader Awards to recognize organizations and individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and innovation in water efficiency. Winners will be chosen by a panel of national water experts based on three criteria: leadership, innovation, and water saved.
Water Efficiency Leader Awards are intended to help foster a nationwide ethic of water efficiency, as well as to inspire, motivate, and recognize efforts to improve water efficiency. This program enables EPA to document best practices, share information, encourage an ethic of water efficiency, and create a network of water efficiency leaders.
Award categories for 2008 include: Corporation or Industry (including small businesses), Water Utility (private or public), Government (State, Local, Tribal, Federal), Nongovernmental Organization, and Individual. Nominations are being accepted until August 29, 2008.
