December 20, 2002—Essex Environmental will bring its interactive training style to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) environmental training seminars for a second year. The firm is again on the training team that will present up to five courses each of the Post-Certificate Environmental Compliance and the Environmental Report Preparation seminars at locations around the United States in 2003.
In 2000, Essex led an effort to revamp the Southern Gas Association’s Environmental Inspection and Construction Compliance Workshop with the goal of enhancing audience participation while conveying recent advances in pipeline environmental compliance. Since then, Essex has also participated on the training team of the biannual Pipeline Systems Course offered by the Bureau of Land Management’s National Training Center.
The two-day Post-Certificate Environmental Compliance seminar addresses waterbody crossings, wetland construction, right-of-way restoration, cultural resources compliance, erosion control, and residential construction. The 2003 program will reflect recent changes to the FERC’s standard mitigation plans for natural gas pipelines, the Wetland and Waterbody Construction and Mitigation Procedures and the Upland Erosion Control, Revegetation and Maintenance Plan.
The Environmental Report Preparation seminar is a one-day course focusing on the environmental documentation required for FERC Certificate applications.
There is no charge to attend the FERC seminars. Specific dates, locations, and registration information can be found at online or by calling 650/712-6610.
