The European Commission has published a report entitled “Building an Innovative Economy in Europe,” highlighting how EU enterprises are managing innovation.
It says that for companies to cope with globalization and international competition they need to be open to innovation and make the most of it: “First movers lead the pack in the take-up of new ideas, new production processes, new products, new tools, new management styles and working methods.”
Trends in innovation policies are also reviewed showing that European companies perform consistently. However, the Commission says that companies could do better and that they need to make more of an effort in the e-economy.
