November 29, 2001—Software developer FastPic Systems and Remstar International have formed a partnership that allows FastPicT inventory management software to drive Remstar automated storage and retrieval systems.
FastPic software improves speed and order picking accuracy in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment applications. It includes features such as multiple workzone management, bar code scanning, bulk storage management, paper pick lists, pick banding, continuous batch picking. New imaging allows users to see and zoom in on actual pictures of inventory items to verify picking. FastPic runs on Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000, and supports any TCP/IP network. It is SQL/OBDC enabled for easier, faster database connectivity. The most recent version of FastPic4 software, and future releases, will be configured to drive the Remstar ShuttleT Vertical Lift Module (VLM), vertical and horizontal carousels.
