The UK’s FDS Advanced Systems has released the Internet module for their new Planet FM, the computer aided facilities management system. The module enables Planet FM users to create a Web site for their facilities or estates team through which customers can log calls, view room bookings, view CAD drawings, and obtain progress and performance reports. All these are standard features of the Planet FM system. However FDS claims that creative FMs can now easily design a customized Web site and publish news information, contact directories, user guides, and company policy documents. FDS supplies a set of easy-to-use data tools that can extract any facilities data and present this in forms and tables. Examples may be space utilization data, scheduled planned maintenance visits, and risk assessments.
