October 6, 2002—Facility Information Systems, Inc. (FIS) has recently released a full-featured product upgrade, FIS/FM 5.1i., with advantages in platform technologies, especially in workflow management, portal tools, interoperability and security management.
According to Ray Summerell, FIS Vice President for Corporate Development, “FIS/FM(tm) has been fully Web-enabled for years, but version 5.1i is a major step up in delivering industry-leading features with highly configurable, scalable and secure performance through a browser.”
The upgrade contains new features for project management support, change management, and CAD and GIS management. FIS/FM 5.1i retains the company’s commitment to the stability, scalability, security and high-end performance of the native underlying platforms from Oracle Corporation, Autodesk and Bentley Systems, says FIS.
Over the next several calendar quarters, says FIS, the company will be releasing a series of supplemental enhancements.” These may be produced as incremental releases to FIS/FM 5.1i or may be combined into a consolidated product release. These features will include capabilities such as:
- Continuing updates in the version compatibility for Autodesk Map, MapGuide and Bentley Systems MicroStation
- Expanded support for international currencies
- Continuing expansion of lease management capabilities
- Expanded action and move request capabilities
- Enhanced data entry and edit portlets
- Project management compatibility with major third-party products
- Enhanced and expanded asset management capabilities
- A space reservations management capability
- Broader support for foreign languages
- Expanded use of Oracle Workflow
- An expanded array of data query and presentation portlets
