April 16, 2008—Flowcrete Group plc, a specialist flooring manufacturer, has been acquired by US-based RPM International Inc., a multinational holding company with subsidiaries that manufacture and market high-performance coatings, sealants, and specialty chemicals, the company has announced.
Flowcrete is a leading specialist flooring and decking business offering resin floor finishes, seamless terrazzo, industrial flooring, floor screeds, under floor heating and car park decking backed by a global support network of eight factories and 26 sales offices worldwide. The company provides seamless flooring in both the commercial and industrial sectors.
In addition to manufacturing, Flowcrete also emphasizes research and development. It has pioneered floors that fight superbugs including MRSA and C.Diff at ground level using the natural power of silver, making them the ideal platform for hospitals, nursing homes, and other sensitive hygiene areas including food and pharmaceutical environments.
Flowcrete had record sales in 2007 of $87 million, an increase of 24 percent over the prior year. RPM International recorded sales of $3.3 billion in 2007
