May 16, 2007—Flowcrete International has launched what it describes as a unique ultra fast-track flooring system, specifically designed for the fast-moving commercial sector. Known as Flowfast, the flooring can be ready for use just two hours after installation.
Using the latest in MMA technology, Flowfast delivers a floor finish that not only looks good but also stands up to all the demands associated with floors in fast-paced environments such as commercial and retail, says the company. Exceptional durability and abrasion resistance make the system ideal for heavy industrial and commercial applications. High compressive strength and impact resistance, coupled with exceptional bond strength provide a long-lasting floor finish with a lifespan of up to 10 years.
Flowfast is offered in a wide range of colorways and decorative styles. Another benefit, adds Flowcrete, is that Flowfast can withstand shopping trolleys and other indoor wheeled traffic.
For new-build projects, the ability to install Flowfast over “green concrete” with relative humidity of 100 percent helps speed construction times. Typically, flooring can be installed only after “green concrete” has completely dried out, which, says Flowcrete, can be as much as 28 days.
Flowfast is biologically inert, and the easy-clean pinhole-free, non-porous, seamless finish prevents any accumulation of bacteria and dirt, says the company. The system is impermeable and will stand up to rigorous cleansing regimes, at temperatures of up to 70 degrees Celsius. Good slip-resistance, which can be tailored according to requirements, minimizes the potential for falls. It is resistant to a wide range of alkalis, acids, oils, salts, and other aggressive media, making it ideal for installation in food processing and preparation environments, says Flowcrete.
