January 29, 2003—Fluor Corporation has signed an agreement to acquire DEL-JEN, INC. (DJI), a provider of outsourced services to the U.S. Government.
DJI, located in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., is a privately held company that provides operations and maintenance services at military bases; engineering and construction services; and education and training services to the Department of Labor, particularly its Job Corps program. It has approximately 1,500 employees located in 31 states. Fiscal 2003 revenue is estimated at approximately $140 million.
DJI will become part of Fluor’s Government Services group, but it will operate as an independent company. Fluor also provides engineering and construction services, as well as contingency operations support, to the Departments of Defense, State and Transportation and to agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Fluor’s expertise in serving the federal government is divided into three additional lines of business: Energy, Defense, and Federal Facilities & Homeland Security.
