July 6, 2007—FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS), has announced that, in partnership with TSIG Consulting, it has donated a license for its facility management software to Sripatum University (SPU) in Thailand . The solution, FM:Space, will be used as part of the curriculum of the 1.5 year master’s program in facility management. TSIG Consulting, Inc. provides specialized systems, hardware, and consulting services to improve the financial and functional value of their client’s infrastructure.
Busakorm Vorameth, who is on staff at TSIG Consulting Inc., teaches Data Management in Facilities Management at the university and requested the donation from FM:Systems to help students learn to manage databases, and therefore better prepare them for a career in the field of facility management. Students graduating from the program compete for facilities jobs in locations all over the world including Thailand, other Asian countries, Europe, and the United States.
In the future Busakorm plans to use the software in more of her classes on the SPU campus, and she has recently been asked to expand the curriculum into neighboring universities.
