Formica solid surfacing and stone win GREENGUARD certification

June 10, 2005—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute has awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification to the Formica Corporation’s solid surfacing and stone. This is the first time a solid surface has earned the GREENGUARD Mark, but the second group of Formica products to earn GREENGUARD Certification, says the organization.

In 2004, Formica Brand Laminates and DecoMetal surfacing products were found to have minimal impact on the indoor environment. This time, Formica subjected their solid surfacing and stone products to the rigorous GREENGUARD Testing and Certification Program. Both surface types were found in compliance with the GREENGUARD Standards for Low Emitting Products and will continue to be tested on a regular basis.
