Framery’s smartest office pods hail from Michigan, for reduced tariffs and lead time

The “world’s smartest” office pods just became far easier to bring into an American workplace. With Gradus, Framery — the company that invented the office pod — has launched an all-new range assembled in Michigan, designed to let more organizations enjoy the Framery advantage without the lead times, costs and complications of importing from overseas.

Gradus comprises three models, each engineered to maximize ergonomic interior volume within a minimal footprint. Unlike Framery’s aesthetically bold signature line, Gradus is built to read the room: characterized by clean lines and a minimalist silhouette, it can blend seamlessly into the surrounding architecture or stand out as a focal point. Modular wall panels let specifiers finish pods in warm wood veneers, soft fabrics or acoustic panels, making each unit a canvas for interior design as much as a functional asset. FM teams can add, relocate or reconfigure pods as headcount and work patterns shift.

  • Gradus Focus: Optimized for private video calls and individual tasks
  • Gradus Work: A one-person pod designed for heads-down concentration and video calls — essentially a private office for one
  • Gradus Huddle: A 1–4 person room for collaborative small group meetings

That flexibility speaks directly to the pressures documented across the sector. With global office fit-out costs up 2–6% over the past year, and more than half of workplace leaders delaying expansion plans because they cannot see how space is actually used, the appeal of infrastructure that adapts rather than commits is clear. Gradus pods need no demolition, no drywall and no lengthy permitting — they simply move with the floorplan.

Each unit pairs Class A soundproofing with the intelligence Framery is known for: automatic ventilation and lighting that respond the moment someone steps inside, walk-in reservations that create and release themselves automatically, and connected sensors that feed real usage data back to FM and workplace teams. That anonymized occupancy data integrates with Framery’s smart office platform to “rightsize” the floor plan — closing the visibility gap that leaves four in five leaders short of the insight they need. Circular-design principles and third-party-verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), published at launch, support sustainability reporting and embodied-carbon targets.

Assembly in Michigan is more than a logistical convenience. For U.S. and Canadian specifiers it means shorter lead times, reduced exposure to the tariff and supply-chain volatility now cited as a cost driver in 62% of markets, and a meaningfully lower transport carbon footprint. The line is rigorously tested for IBC, IFC and UL 962 standards, meeting building, fire and seismic codes across all North American regions.

Framery will showcase the complete Gradus line at NeoCon 2026 at The Mart in Chicago, available for specification beginning June 2026.
