April 30, 2008—The PRIMERGY TX150 S6 server recently tested as the world’s most energy-efficient industry-standard server. In official tests, the PRIMERGY TX150 S6 from Fujitsu Siemens Computers became the first server to pass the 1000 “ssj_ops/watt” power-rating ceiling.
Benchmarking tests on the PRIMERGY TX150 S6 delivered the SPECpower_ssj2008 result of 1018 operations per watt, surpassing the highest previous score of 910 operations per watt.
SPECpower_ssj2008 is the first industry-standard benchmark to evaluate the power and performance characteristics of volume server class computers. Developed by SPEC (the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation), the SPECpower_ssj2008 benchmark defines power measurement standards in the same way as industry-established server performance is measured.
Full results of the SPECpower tests are available from the SPECpower Web site.
