February 11, 2005—Gamewell, a manufacturer of commercial fire alarm control panels and emergency life safety systems, and part of the Honeywell Fire Systems Group, has released a state-of-the-art audio evacuation system product line. The fully digital and networkable systems can simultaneously support up to six channels of digital audio, including line paging and two-way telephone communications, plus various control functions.
The new technology is integrated into Gamewell’s fire safety solutions for low- to mid-rise buildings and general areas of assembly, as well as digital audio solutions for high-rise and campus applications. The voice evacuation systems can be custom-configured for unique buildings and floor plans.
The system is designed to facilitate orderly evacuation in event of an emergency by broadcasting prerecorded messages or emergency paging, and can alert building occupants of imminent severe weather events such as tornadoes.
