GE Digital Energys APS combines power generation and energy storage for mission critical power

March 8, 2002—GE Digital Energy has introduced its Advanced Power System (APS), a pre-engineered, pre-assembled system delivering premium power for mission critical applications.

The APS is a virtual plug-and-play power solution that focuses on the interconnection of the utility to the critical load. Designed to minimize field installation and operational requirements, the APS operates automatically under self-contained controls. By combining power generation, conditioning and energy storage along with all the ancillary electrical distribution equipment, the APS solves complex power problems.

The APS is designed for a variety of applications that isolate the critical load from all instantaneous power disturbances and outages. The integrated control system continually monitors the incoming power source for a fault condition, and when power becomes unstable, the APS ensures uninterrupted premium power in a series of split-second steps.

APS is designed to reduce the impact on facility design, construction schedules and infrastructure requirements. Optional indoor-outdoor design and the integrated remote monitoring system also provide flexibility in site selection. For more information, contact GE Digital Energy.
