October 24, 2001—Under a global alliance agreement reached by Geac Computer Corporation and Peregrine Systems, Geac Enterprise will resell Peregrine’s Employee Relationship Management (ERM) applications for e-Procurement and employee self service, as well as Business Relationship Management solutions for collaborative commerce. Peregrine’s e-Procurement solution transcends traditional procurement processes by allowing organizations to evaluate the overall cost of owning and managing an asset—described by industry analysts as the Total Cost of Ownership—not simply its initial purchase price. Additionally, Peregrine collaborative commerce solutions will allow Geac to help its customers extend the benefits of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with connections to supplier communities for direct and indirect e-Procurement.
Peregrine’s Get2ConnectSM global trading network will also now be available to Geac’s extensive customer base. Get2Connect already serves more than 44,000 buyers and suppliers worldwide, allowing all companies along the supply chain to electronically exchange transactions regardless of the data, software and connectivity standards they use.
