Georgia Power’s EnergyDirect.com helps customers analyze energy usage

December 2, 2002—Georgia Power’s EnergyDirect.com, an online tool for analyzing and tracking energy usage and billing information, has grown from 797 customers when it debuted in 2001 to nearly 1,400 this year—proof, the company says, the customers appreciate the convenience of online energy services.

Using EnergyDirect.com, customers can:

  • Track energy costs throughout the month and make adjustments in order to meet budget targets;
  • Correlate energy usage with their own production data, changes in their operation, or weather;
  • Forecast energy costs for the next year;
  • Spot energy trends such as increased usage by faulty equipment; and
  • Illustrate energy consumption and the value of efficiency to their employees.

The standard package of services offered by EnergyDirect.com is free. There are three additional levels of enhanced services, ranging in price from $30 to $90 a month.
