February 19, 2007—FORTUNE magazine recently published its 2007 list of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.” To create the list, more than 100,000 randomly selected employees from 466 candidate companies were asked by the Great Places to Work Institute to complete an employee-opinion survey.
Google went straight to the number one position in its first appearance on the list. All Google employees reportedly enjoy such perks as free gourmet meals, a swimming spa, and free doctors onsite. Engineers can spend 20% of their time on independent projects.

- Container Store
- Whole Foods Market
- Network Appliance
- S.C. Johnson & Son
- Boston Consulting Grp.
- Methodist Hospital Sys.
- W.L. Gore & Associates
