Catering and support services company Granada Healthcare Services has been awarded seven contracts through competitive tenders, worth a total of 7 million. The contracts comprise a variety of facilities services including security, catering, and portering. According to Granada, these contracts collectively represent one of the largest business gains this year within its sector of the health industry. The 2.5 million a year contract with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is to provide domestic support for five hospitals with a total of 1,574 beds and 6,000 staff members. The other contracts are with the Southampton Community Health Services NHS Trust, Central Sheffield University Hospitals Trust, Black Country Mental Health NHS Trust, Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust, Wexham Park Hospital, and the Manchester Children’s Hospital NHS Trust.
