March 25, 2005—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is offering its Indoor Air Quality Continuing Education Program (CEU) “Helping Your Clients Maintain Good Indoor Air Quality” for the second year, after experiencing tremendous market response within the architecture, design, and specifying community, the organization says.
In 2004, more than 3,000 participants were educated on topics such as health effects of poor IAQ, financial impact, material selection and source control, IAQ in LEED, and how to use third-party certification in the product selection process.
The course uses a number of case studies as documented evidence and illustrative examples. Participants can receive continuing education credits for a number of professional organizations, including AIA, IIDA, ASID, and CSI.
Currently, the CEU Program is offered in two ways. The most popular is a face-to-face presentation by a GEI-approved facilitator trained in CEU guidelines and presentation skills. Interested parties may contact the GEI for an opportunity to have the course brought to their firm or organization. Each participant receives a resource CD with tools and information, as well as a copy of the presentation for reference.
The course is also available online from Ron Blank. The participant must complete an online test in order to receive continuing education credits and a certificate of completion. There is no charge to complete the course with Ron Blank.
