August 11, 2004—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has launched online, printable certificates for all GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified Products. The accessible certificates provide a valuable tool of authentication for both specifiers and product representatives, and prevent any misinformation in the marketplace by offering concise documentation to verify GREENGUARD Product Certification for project submissions and job bids.
The certificates provide all vital information to prove a product’s GREENGUARD Certification by stating the product’s name, manufacturer, date of certification, any restrictions on the certification, and the exact standards that the product was tested to under the GREENGUARD Certification Program.
The GREENGUARD Product Certificates will be used to easily document EQ Credit 4.5 of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Rating System in which projects can receive a credit for using GREENGUARD Certified office furniture. The GREENGUARD Environmental Instituted worked with the US Green Building Council to make the submission process simple; a certificate can be printed and submitted for each furniture product in the project at no additional cost.
The certificates are available for download in the online GREENGUARD Product Guide. Each GREENGUARD Certified Product has a link for the Printable Certificate in the product detail.
Products bearing the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified label help significantly reduce indoor air pollution from odorous or potentially irritating contaminants released by common interior furnishings and building materials, says GREENGUARD. All GREENGUARD Certified Products are readily available. Specifying and building professionals use GREENGUARD Certified Products to create superior interior environments without added cost or effort.
