April 25, 2005—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute has released a complimentary guidebook, the GREENGUARD 2005 Indoor Air Quality Guide, written to help design professionals integrate indoor air quality into their projects without a lot of effort or additional expense, says the organization.
The GREENGUARD 2005 IAQ Guide includes general information on indoor air quality (IAQ), facts and figures regarding chemical emissions from interior products and materials, an IAQ management plan, and references to resources on indoor air quality and low-emitting materials.
Creating healthy indoor environments, which will not expose occupants to potentially hazardous or irritating air pollutants, remains a challenge even for green building design experts. The GREENGUARD 2005 IAQ Guide attempts to shed some light on indoor air quality and product performance and selection issues, says the organization. Interior designers and architects can use the GREENGUARD 2005 IAQ Guide in conjunction with the online GREENGUARD Product Guide.
