January 9, 2008—GSH Group, Inc. an international facilities and energy management provider, has won a $30 million contract to manage the world-class Biomedical Research Center (BRC) on Johns Hopkins University’s Baltimore Campus, which is known for its momentous advances in scientific research.
The contract, which was awarded through Bayview Leasing Company, is for GSH USA to provide a fully integrated facilities management services program in support of the critical research efforts of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Aging and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
The BRC is a new high-tech, 12-level research facility, covering 540,611 square feet across a 19.5-acre site. It also includes a bi-level, 22,929 square feet Independent Utility Plant that supplies high pressure steam and chilled water, a state-of-the-art laboratory, library, as well as office space. GSH will assume complete responsibility for the property and will deliver all FM functions including operation and maintenance of all the building systems, operation of its computerized maintenance management system, maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, operation and maintenance of the building automation system, energy management, custodial services and emergency services in support of the NIH’s crucial operations.
