October 8, 2003—A new solution in the battle against mold, mildew, and algae has been developed by GSI/Camden Products, LLC, of North Carolina. Anti-Growth Concentrate, can prevent the growth of these organisms for up to two years on most exterior inanimate surfaces and up to five years on interior surfaces, including wood, drywall, concrete, brick, vinyl, and tile. It can be applied to roofs, siding, decks, patios, walls, and floors to prevent the regrowth of fungi and algae, or during construction and renovation to prohibit potential growth.
The product was recently specified for new government buildings in Washington, D.C., and an apartment complex in Orlando, Fla., where mold and mildew were discovered during construction. It is distributed through a network of dealers across the United States, excluding California.
Anti-Growth also may be applied during the manufacturing of certain products, such as lumber or drywall to minimize mold and mildew growth during shipping and storage.
