March 16, 2007—Research and Markets has announced the addition of “Earthquake Engineering: Application to Design” to its offerings.
The text guides readers through dozens of structural designs, documenting how to perform each step, make the necessary calculations, and adhere to relevant design codes.
All the design methods in the guide comply with current US building codes, notes the company. References to these codes are provided throughout the text, helping readers understand how they are integrated into an overall structural design.
The book is written by Charles K. Erdey, Dr. – Ing., SE, PE, who has taught structural engineering subjects at California State University, Long Beach, and Northern Arizona University, practiced consulting engineering and forensic engineering, and done extensive research, dating back to the 1960s, on limit state design and performance of structures.
