HÅG’s new office chair minimizes user adjustments

HÅG Inc.’s H05 is billed as “the world’s most user-friendly office chair” because the number of adjustments a user must make is minimized. There are just two user controls: One lever that adjusts height and one wheel that simultaneously adjusts seat depth, back height and tilt resistance. Once both controls are set to user preferences, the chair’s ergonomic features are activated to support a healthy variation of movement.

Peter Opsvik designed HÅG H05 to encourage the natural, unconscious movement of the human body while user is seated. The new chair incorporates several HÅG ergonomic innovations, most notably Foot Controlled MovementTM. The chair has a center tilt point and a fixed connection between seat and back, enabling the feet to control tilting movement. Even when user is “sitting quietly,” the chair inspires small, unconscious leg movements, which tends to increase blood circulation.

With environmental concerns at play, the chair has fewer components than most other similar office chairs. All materials are recyclable, with components marked for simple and easy sorting. No integrated foam, PVC, zinc or other environmentally hazardous substances are used. Worn parts can be easily replaced in the field. Fabrics, for instance, are easy to remove and put back for cleaning or replacement.
