July 25, 2007—KI’s higher education furniture product lines have been specified throughout the campus of Hartnell Community College. The Salinas, CA, institution features KI desking, seating, tables, chairs, overhead storage, and panel systems in classrooms, labs, libraries, and offices.
The design of Hartnell Community College’s new Learning Resource Center embraces the earthy colors of its surrounding agricultural region and establishes a modern environment for teaching and learning. While the design is classical it has an academic look, feel and function, and it also reflects the advanced technologies of the 21st century.
Classrooms focus on flexibility with Hurry Up! Tables and Torsion on the Go! chairs, movable furniture that allow spaces to be easily reconfigured. Computer rooms include InTandem tables, which provide a clean esthetic by concealing power distribution, and height-adjustable Genesis desking to accommodate sit-stand and other work styles.
CrossRoads furniture with a Cherry Storm finish was chosen to create a warm, natural feeling in the facility’s library. Customized circular quad carrels serve as the visual focal point.
For office environments at Hartnell Community College, KI’s WireWorks panels create private and shared workstations. Engage task chairs were selected for their comfort and adjustability.
