August 10, 2001—Haworth has expanded its European customer base by acquiring ELAN Florian Weber AG, a Swiss manufacturer of contract office furniture systems.
Both companies are privately owned, have a strong family heritage and trace their business roots to handcrafted wood products. Elan will maintain its identity while capitalizing on Haworths capacity to serve multinational customers. The Swiss manufacturer will continue to distribute its well-known designs and products through its existing sales organization and dealer network.
