April 2, 2004—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for low-emitting furnishings to all major Haworth systems (no wood options), storage and seating product lines: X99, Look, Improv, and Tag seating; 950, PREMISE, PLACES and X Series storage; and PREMISE, Moxie, if and RACE furniture systems. The GREENGUARD Certified products were evaluated through a series of rigorous emissions tests and will undergo quarterly monitoring tests to ensure their low-emitting status.
“GREENGUARD Certification communicates that Haworth can provide our customers—designers and architects—a vast array of product lines to choose from when approaching environmentally-focused projects,” says Franco Bianchi, Haworth’s vice president of product marketing.
“Haworth’s offering of GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified(R) furniture will enable architects and designers achieve points for the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program. GREENGUARD Certified Products help buildings meet indoor air quality baseline testing requirements in the Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) section. GREENGUARD tested and certified office furniture is a requirement referenced under LEED for Commercial Interiors IEQ Credit 4.5.”
Products certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute help to significantly reduce indoor air pollution. The Institute provides an online guide of low-emitting, readily available products to help builders, architects, interior designers, specifying professionals, and consumers create healthy interior environments.
