Haworth , the first company in the office furniture industry to develop a web site, officially launched its new on-line furniture catalog in mid-July. “The Haworth on-line furniture catalog is unique in its ability to provide large amounts of useful product information,” said Steve Timmer, Haworth webmaster. “It acts as a valuable information resource, enabling customers to download and share full-size product images, price lists, and brochures.”
Haworth’s on-line catalog minimizes the number of clicks, provides information quickly, and is easy to navigate.
- Drop-down menus allow users to navigate the on-line catalog without continuously clicking back and forth, or in and out of product pages.
- Complete, detailed product descriptions, dimensions and U.S. list prices are instantly accessible.
- CAD symbols, two-dimensional renderings with specification information, can be ordered on-line.
- Large, clear product shots can be downloaded from the on-line photo gallery.
Haworth’s new on-line catalog also helps users share this wealth of information to improve communication and make informed decisions. Information can be placed in a file, zipped (compacted) and downloaded. The file can then be emailed to other users, unzipped, and downloaded to the individual’s computer. Catalog customers can also email specific product links to friends and colleagues by using the “Email This Page” feature.
Haworth’s on-line catalog wasn’t designed to replace printed catalogs or Sourcebook CDs. Rather, it enhances both services with added access, features, and up-to-date information.
