Healthcare architects Ellerbe Becket to focus on technology and life sciences

August 29, 2007—Ellerbe Becket, the architecture and engineering firm known for designing the first Mayo Clinic and recognized as the top designer of healthcare and technology facilities around the world, launched a new practice area that focuses on technology and the life sciences sector.

Robert A. Bracamonte, AIA, principal and design director for the San Francisco office, championed the creation of the new practice to expand Ellerbe Becket’s strong foundation designing labs and technically challenging structures for the healthcare industry. Joining him is Roland Lazzarotto, AIA, one of the Bay Area’s acclaimed architects and designers in science and technology research & development, corporate, and manufacturing facilities.

Bracamonte and Lazzarotto will expand the firm’s presence in the life sciences and technology industry sectors with a team of planners and designers well known for designing complex buildings for science and technology clients.
