July 23, 2004—Herman Miller, Inc., a global provider of office furnishings, workplace consulting, and related services, has established an alliance with Theatre Solutions Inc., a Quakertown, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of fixed seating. The partnership will expand Herman Miller’s opportunities to place its popular Aeron and Equa 2 work chairs in the corporate training and education markets.
Best known for auditorium seating—Carnegie Hall is among its signature installations—TSI also designs and manufactures fixed training tables with attached chairs. Until now, those attached chairs were made exclusively by TSI. With the alliance, however, Herman Miller dealers can accommodate customers who want to outfit training rooms or lecture halls with the high performance of Aeron and Equa 2.
Aeron and Equa 2 chairs will be attached to TSI’s fixed training tables. The majority of the chairs’ ergonomic features will remain, although when offered in the fixed configuration they will not have the five-star base or pneumatic seat-height adjustment of the freestanding versions. The new alliance products are available now through authorized Herman Miller dealers.
