Hill International selected as construction manager for toll bridge rehab

November 22, 2006—Hill International, the worldwide construction consulting firm, announced that it has received a contract from the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) to provide construction management and inspection services during the $100 million rehabilitation and widening of the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge. The 44-month contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately $7 million, says the company.

The Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge is a 12-span, simply supported, composite steel girder and concrete structure with an overall length of 1,324 feet. The bridge currently carries two northbound and three southbound lanes of US Route 1 between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The project includes various improvements, including the installation of a northbound auxiliary lane and the installation of noise walls, that will improve safety, reduce congestion, enhance toll plaza operations, mitigate noise impacts and improve interchange access. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
