Hilton hotels provide rooms with better indoor air quality

April 22, 2005—Rooms at the Hilton OHare International Airport will be more comfortable for guests with allergies, dust sensitivities and respiratory illnesses, thanks to the work of Environmental Technology Solutions.

The rooms were completely gutted and everything was removed, including floor coverings, bedding, drapes and furniture. Then Environmental Technology Solutions rebuilt the rooms with special wood flooring, wall coverings, fabrics, furniture, paints, adhesives and cleaning products.

The rooms also include a state-of the-art air purification technology that provides a significant reduction in particulates, microbial, volatile organic compounds and other allergens.

Prior to developing the project, the firm consulted with such organizations as the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the America College of Asthma, Allergy and Asthma and Allergy Foundation.
